The opportunity

This initiative offers up to $100,000 per eligible apartment complex, consisting of 50% covered by a grant and 50% by a zero-interest loan.
Co-funded under the Solar Banks Initiative and the Sustainable Household Scheme, this program enables your complex to harness solar power, enhancing value and sustainability.

What this means for you:

Unlock Significant Savings

You can access up to $100,000 in grants and zero-interest loans, significantly reducing the cost of solar installation for your apartment complex.

Boost Property Value

According to Domain, solar could increase your property’s market attractiveness and value by 12.7%, making it a smart investment.

Simplified Process

Our team will provide you with a Shared Solar Assessment to give you all the information you need for your building and help support your grant application.

Eligibility Criteria

Who can apply?

Owners Corporations: Also known as body corporates, these entities must manage an eligible apartment complex within the ACT.

Example: Any legally recognised group responsible for managing shared spaces in apartment complexes.

What's the valuation criteria?

Average Unimproved Value: The average unimproved value of a unit must be $300,000 or less, as of any year from 2022.

Brief Description: This refers to the land value of the property without any buildings or improvements. It's assessed to ensure the program supports properties within a specific financial threshold.

What are the property requirements?

Eligible Properties

  • Apartment Complex Type: Must be a completed apartment complex with a Class A unit plan as defined in the Unit Titles Act 2001.
  • No Existing Solar: The property should not already have rooftop solar installed.
How does my apartment complex finance this?

Financial Eligibility

  • Loan Assistance: Half of the funding comes as a zero-interest loan from Brighte, ensuring manageable repayments without financial strain.
  • Repayment Criteria: Applicants must meet Brighte’s credit requirements to confirm they can sustain the loan repayment over time.
"Rooftop solar couldn't have come at a better time. I'm recently retired, and have already found a huge difference in my powerbill".
